If so, help is available through Catholic Charities. Get new ideas for addressing those day- to- day parenting challenges. Learn to balance love and limits, and feel good about your ability as a parent. We have several different parent programs that are available. We are committed to helping people to grow within themselves, so we offer a variety of workshops for personal growth, designed to help you be competent and successful in your relationships with others.
So, call for programs about Grief and Loss, Forgiveness, Stress, and a whole lot more! Workshops can be designed to meet the needs of a particular group, and you can even schedule a program on location in your community!
Training is also offered to schools, churches and agencies that would like to give peer support to children who are experiencing a significant loss. RAINBOWS is a proven program that fosters emotional healing to children grieving a life altering crisis. You deserve to be the best parent you can be! Learn how to be a confident parent in today's world. This four session class will provide information about communication skills, being consistent, changing old patterns, and much more! The Recession – Coping Skills in Uncertain Times
The tough economic times can bring insecurity, grief, and anxiety for many people. If you have been affected by downsizing, layoffs, or the loss of a home, you are invited to attend a free workshop designed to assist you in addressing the many feelings that accompany these losses. Some of the topics include how to move forward, what to say to the children, and much more. Forgiveness: the Gateway to Peace
The New Year is a good time for us to reflect on how we relate to ourselves and others. We all have times in our lives when we need to forgive others – family members, friends, neighbors, or co-workers Learning about the process of forgiveness, getting beyond the hurt, and moving forward with life is one way to create peace within ourselves. This program will be offered January 22, 2009 at Mercy Hospital in Western Hills (6th floor conference room) from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The fee is $15.00 per person. Help for Parents of Teens
Are you looking for ways to meet the challenges of parenting a teen? Would you like to learn creative ways to be prepared for this new stage of parenting? The Birds, the Bees, and Beyond: Parenting Your Teen is a four-week class for adults who are interested in learning more about growth and development of teens, peer pressure, setting boundaries, and much more. This class begins on February 5 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in the in the 6th floor conference room at Mercy Hospital, Western Hills. The fee for this four session program is $55.00. Better Than Yelling
Have you ever uttered the words, “I’m going to stop yelling, it doesn’t do any good?”, only to find yourself doing the same thing just minutes later? If so, join us for Better Than Yelling, a one- session program designed to decrease yelling and to develop a more satisfying relationship with your child. This program will be held on March 3, from 7:00 p.m. 9:00 p.m. at Corpus Christi Parish Center. The fee is $15.00 per person.
